How do you define photo packaging?

Just so we are clear on what we are talking about, when I say “Photo Packaging”, I am really referring to two areas of thought.
- Professional Photo Packaging as the Presentation: the physical representation of photographic products: the display, wrapping and delivery of professional photography to position and present images for increased perceived value and to create an enhanced photographic experience and greater overall customer satisfaction - and elevated pricing potential (a la Godiva Chocolates and Starbucks Coffee).
- Professional Photo Packaging as the Sales/Service Message: the creating of “portrait packages” by combining photographic prints and products (such as folders, easel mounts and albums) to build “offers” with professional photographs, for enhanced perceived value and greater overall customer satisfaction - and increased sales potential ( a la Price Club/Sam’s Club and Value Meals).
How would you define photo packaging? Is it something more than this? Less? Something different altogether?
